The Wilten Boys’ Choir is one of the oldest and most renowned boys’ choirs in Europe—yet their sound remains remarkably contemporary.

The choir consists of about 150 boys and young men, and in recent years has also included girls. The choir’s training program is closely linked to Wilten Abbey and the Tyrolean State Conservatory—a tradition that has evolved over generations.

Under the direction of Johannes Stecher, the choir has become an internationally sought-after ensemble. Its performances have taken it to venues including La Scala in Milan, as well as the Salzburg, Bregenz, and Tyrolean festivals.

What you hear here is not a museum piece, but a living form of tradition—precise, multifaceted, and, in the best sense of the word, open to the present
